  • Provide isolated, short-lived test environments for engineers and AI agents.
  • Refocus code review on risky changes and automate checks, including verification of AI-written tests.

  • Manage CI and AI-tooling costs; hire, coach, and grow senior engineers.
  • Share learnings through talks, blog posts, and the engineering community.

Basic qualifications

  • At least 10 years in platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps, including at least 5 years managing engineers.
  • Experience leading a GitOps or deployment-platform migration across many teams and clusters.
  • Experience taking a CI/CD platform from selection to organization-wide adoption.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, and infrastructure as code.
  • Hands-on use of AI coding agents and experience adapting delivery processes to their impact.
  • Ability to explain technical tradeoffs to executives in plain language.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience running Argo CD, Buildkite, or CircleCI at scale.
  • Experience with progressive delivery, including canary releases or feature-flag rollouts.
  • Experience with vendor and budget management.

Workplace

  • The role requires working in the office two days per week.
  • PagerDuty describes its work model as hybrid.

Compensation

  • Base salary range is CAD 180,000 to CAD 272,800; the posting does not specify a pay cadence.
  • The role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and benefits.

Potential benefits

  • Potential offerings include health benefits, equity, an employee stock purchase program, retirement or pension plan, paid leave, wellness programs, and volunteer time off; eligibility varies.
