Senior Engineering Manager, AI Product Engineering

Role overview

AI product engineering

• Lead architecture, development, and delivery of scalable production AI features and shared AI platforms.
• Apply generative AI, machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision to product challenges.

• Lead adoption of AI-Native Engineering and Agentic SDLC practices.

• Apply agents and reusable skills across design, implementation, testing, code review, and delivery.
• Set engineering standards and metrics to improve productivity without compromising quality, security, or maintainability.
• Mentor engineers, collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams, and support responsible AI deployment with Security and Compliance.

Required qualifications

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including strong system design and architecture.
• At least 3 years of engineering leadership experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• At least 2 years developing and deploying production AI applications or product features.
• Experience with modern AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, Claude, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of LLMs, transformers, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and workflow orchestration.
• Practical Data Science and ML knowledge, including predictive modeling and model evaluation.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
• Experience with AI-Native Engineering, Spec-Driven Development, AI-assisted workflows, Agentic SDLC, and scalable cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Commercial software AI feature experience; computer vision, image/video analytics, deep learning, or predictive ML experience.
• Experience with local or self-hosted models, Hugging Face, MCP, agent orchestration frameworks, or production ML pipelines.
• Experience with advanced Agentic SDLC workflows, reusable AI platforms or shared AI services, Agile methods, or regulated/security-conscious environments.

Compensation

• Salary is CAD $150,000–$170,000 per year, plus a 12.5% bonus.
