Senior Engineer, Process (Di-Ammonium Phosphate)

Job purpose

Engineering solutions and operational excellence

• Deliver engineering solutions and technical advice that improve business performance and competitiveness.
• Develop cost-effective solutions within quality, schedule, and risk parameters; analyze systems and processes to identify operational improvements.
• Optimize equipment, systems, and processes while balancing technical, operational, and financial needs.
• Generate practical team improvements, conduct research and development, apply relevant technologies, and improve work processes.
• Optimize total cost of ownership while balancing cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, and Risk Assessment activities.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules, technical procedures, safe work instructions, and inspection reports.
• Translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements and deliverables; define and improve quality standards and specifications.
• Review and sign off technical work; supervise and assess work by peers, contractors, and consultants.
• Develop or review policies, procedures, standards, methods, and engineering practices.
• Monitor process and risk impacts, implement corrective actions, and promote compliance with technical procedures, legal requirements, and company standards.

Project and performance delivery

• Plan and manage engineering projects in line with agreed targets and business requirements.
• Manage work priorities and delivery commitments independently; deliver technical services on time, cost-effectively, and within risk parameters.
• Provide timely and accurate information and complete technical and performance reports.
• Manage technical risks, HSE requirements, and delivery outcomes across assigned work.
• Provide engineering advice that supports programmes, systems, and business decisions.

Technical leadership and capability development

• Maintain professional and technical mastery through ongoing learning and development.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers; transfer expertise through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Capture and disseminate technical knowledge in line with knowledge management standards.
• Provide technical direction and act as a reference point for colleagues and stakeholders.
• Communicate best practices, technical reports, and position statements.
• Lead continuous improvement and transformation initiatives, and promote digitalisation within engineering.
• Direct staff toward appropriate training and development.

Stakeholder and contractor management

• Build working relationships with teams, managers, business leaders, customers, suppliers, universities, and specialist bodies.
• Develop expert networks that strengthen organizational technical knowledge.
• Manage contractor and consultant relationships to support quality technical delivery.
• Collaborate with external engineering companies to exchange expertise.
