Halcon seeks a Senior Engineer: Software (Embedded Software Engineer) to develop, integrate, test, and verify safety-critical real-time software for defense and aerospace platforms.
The role contributes across the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation, integration, verification, and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement real-time embedded software using C/C++, RTOS, and bare-metal architectures.
- Derive low-level software requirements and design modules from system and software specifications.
- Integrate hardware and software, including BSPs, device drivers, and communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Conduct SIL and HIL verification and validation, debugging, testing, and participation in technical design reviews.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of embedded software development experience with strong C/C++ proficiency.
- Solid experience with RTOS, bare-metal systems, embedded architectures, and software debugging tools.
- Experience in defense, aerospace, aviation, or another safety-critical engineering environment; knowledge of tools such as JAMA, DOORS, Git, SVN, or JIRA.
- English proficiency is required for all roles unless otherwise stated.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with DO-178C safety-critical software development and MISRA C/C++ coding standards.
- Experience in missile systems, UAVs, avionics, or other high-integrity embedded systems, including formal design reviews and certification activities.
