About the role

ADASI develops aerospace and autonomous systems for unmanned systems and defence applications.

Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for aerospace platforms, flight-control systems, and mission-critical applications.

Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, efficient, high-performance software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded software and real-time operating system applications.
  • Implement system requirements and control algorithms in collaboration with systems and control engineers.
  • Integrate software with microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, processors, and other electronic components.
  • Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing; debug defects and integration issues.
  • Apply DO-178C and coordinate with hardware teams on applicable DO-254 requirements.
  • Optimize software performance and prepare design, code, test, and verification documentation.
  • Collaborate across hardware, systems, control, integration, and quality teams; maintain configuration and version control using tools such as Git.
  • Keep current with embedded technologies, development practices, and aerospace standards.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 5–7 years of embedded software development experience; relevant aerospace, defence, avionics, automotive, or safety-critical experience is preferred.
  • Strong C and C++ programming; assembly language familiarity is advantageous.
  • Practical embedded systems, microcontroller, and hardware–software interface experience.
  • Knowledge of RTOS and real-time applications, software lifecycle, debugging, testing, and verification.
  • Familiarity with Git and strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in embedded systems, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with aerospace, avionics, UAVs, autonomous systems, defence applications, or DO-178C and DO-254 processes.
  • Experience with flight-control software, control algorithms, sensor interfaces, communications protocols, or real-time control applications.
  • Familiarity with FreeRTOS, VxWorks, embedded debugging tools, processors, microcontrollers, device drivers, and board support packages.
  • Experience with configuration management, requirements traceability, code reviews, automated testing, static analysis, quality assurance, and MISRA C/C++.
  • Relevant embedded software, avionics, functional safety, or aerospace training or certifications.
