Senior Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure (DM Project)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer electrical engineering activities for infrastructure projects in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable authority regulations.
• Review engineering details, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation related to electrical works.
• Ensure that the Design Engineer’s intent is properly implemented by the Contractor and resolve any on-site electrical design issues.
• Coordinate with Design Engineers regarding required design modifications and technical clarifications.
• Review and recommend approval of electrical materials and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and approved submittals.
• Support the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) in issuing technical correspondence and resolving construction-related matters.
• Monitor site activities and identify non-conforming works through the issuance and follow-up of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Attend progress review meetings, technical coordination meetings, and stakeholder discussions to facilitate project delivery.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies between design documents and site conditions.
• Monitor construction progress and provide technical recommendations to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in snagging, inspections, project close-out activities, and final handover.
• Prepare daily and weekly site reports highlighting progress, risks, technical issues, and recommended corrective actions.
• Liaise with Clients, Contractors, Utility Authorities, and other stakeholders to expedite approvals and avoid delays to project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Electrical Engineers and Inspectors assigned to the project.
• Support multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously, as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience, including substantial UAE experience in consultancy supervision of infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai authority requirements, including DEWA, RTA, Dubai Municipality, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution is desirable.
