Senior Dredging Data Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with DevOps teammates and end users to understand business and project data requirements.
• Architect and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL for integration across systems.
• Tune data storage and retrieval to maintain data integrity, performance, and availability.
• Conduct advanced data analysis and develop reporting to support decisions and operational performance.
• Lead data testing and validation; identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Adopt emerging technologies to improve data infrastructure and workflows.
• Mentor data engineers and encourage knowledge sharing and skill development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least seven years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Experience with on-premises server environments and/or cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Scala; knowledge of SQL and NoSQL storage and retrieval technologies.
• Familiarity with version control such as Git and knowledge of RESTful APIs and front-end service integration.
• Experience supporting back-end development and data solutions for desktop and/or web applications.
• Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub profile; familiarity with data science projects and methodologies.
• Exposure to dredging and/or civil engineering.
