Senior Document Controller – Design Consultancy

Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Manage and control all project documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
• Maintain document control systems ensuring proper version control, tracking, and archiving.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure timely submission and distribution of drawings, reports, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with project document control procedures and client requirements.
• Maintain logs for submissions, approvals, RFIs, and transmittals.
• Support design teams in organizing and structuring project documentation.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders for document submissions and tracking.
• Ensure all documents are properly filed, indexed, and easily retrievable.
• Monitor document workflows and follow up on pending approvals or responses.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a Document Controller within a design consultancy environment.
• Strong experience handling multidisciplinary design documentation (architectural, structural, MEP).
• Familiarity with document control systems and workflows in consultancy projects.
• Strong knowledge of document numbering, revision control, and submission processes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Technical Skills
• Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Aconex, BIM 360, SharePoint, or similar).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Familiarity with BIM environments and coordination processes is advantageous.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience working on projects within the UAE or GCC region.
• Experience in large-scale or complex design consultancy projects.
• High attention to detail and strong quality control mindset.
