Lead and manage MEP design across complex building, infrastructure, and industrial projects.
Oversee multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate stakeholders to deliver compliant designs within project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
Drive technical excellence, design quality, innovation, and efficient solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Design leadership and delivery
- Lead development and delivery of MEP design packages from concept through detailed design.
- Manage MEP engineering teams, consultants, and external stakeholders; coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure designs comply with local regulations, international standards, client specifications, and sustainability requirements.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical submissions.
- Set design schedules, resource plans, and priorities; conduct design reviews, value engineering workshops, and risk assessments.
- Mentor engineers and designers; monitor design quality and adherence to quality procedures and best engineering practices.
- Support tendering, procurement, and contractor evaluation through technical reviews and clarifications.
- Manage client relationships and act as the primary technical contact for MEP design matters.
- Resolve technical issues during design, construction, commissioning, and handover; promote sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovation.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate design status, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 10–15 years of MEP design and engineering experience, including significant design management experience.
- Proven delivery experience on large-scale hospitality or leisure projects, including hotels, resorts, or entertainment venues.
- Knowledge of MEP design principles, building systems, and local and international codes and standards.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating with consultants and contractors.
- Proficiency in MEP design software and BIM platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and related tools.
- Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical distribution, lighting, ELV, and building services systems.
- Experience with planning, resource management, budgeting, and schedule control.
- Familiarity with sustainable design, energy-efficient systems, and green building certifications.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, PMP, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
