Senior Data Engineer - DevOps

• This is a remote role that may be hired only in North Carolina, Arizona, Texas, or Florida.

Role Overview

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, automate, test, and deploy secure, auditable, rollback-capable CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Azure DevOps.
• Manage reusable infrastructure as code frameworks for Snowflake, AWS, dbt, and Qlik infrastructure with Terraform.
• Develop Python automation tools and integrations across CI/CD systems, cloud platforms, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability with Splunk, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch.
• Automate deployments for Airflow DAGs, dbt Cloud transformations, data processing jobs, and application components.
• Design backup and disaster recovery strategies and automate backup provisioning and testing.
• Maintain runbooks and operational procedures and support mentoring, training, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and four years of experience in DevOps engineering, data technologies, and cloud platforms, or a high school diploma/GED and eight years of such experience.
• Strong experience with automated CI/CD frameworks using GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or AWS is preferred.
• Hands-on Terraform and infrastructure as code experience is preferred.
• Configuration management, Python automation, cloud integration, and AWS or Azure experience are preferred.
• Snowflake operations, Git-based version control, Linux/Unix administration, and relevant certifications are preferred.
• Financial banking experience is a plus.

Technical Environment

• Preferred technologies include Ansible or Puppet, AWS services, Azure services, Snowflake, dbt, GitLab, GitHub, Linux/Unix, and networking components.
• The role includes infrastructure monitoring, warehouse management, cost optimization, cloud integration, and deployment strategy work.
