Major Responsibilities & Duties
- Check and ensure PC and Level-3 system server working.
- Feed charge-mix recipe in the Level-3 system.
- Cross-check known basket weight for any difference in displayed weight.
- Load scrap in basket as per charge mix blend received from AM/Manager.
- Load fluxes, DRI or DRI fines in the basket if required.
- Monitor each grab of scrap while basket is being prepared.
- Coordinate with EAF crew, STC and crane operators.
- Communicate with crane operators for level and category wise scrap loading.
- Ensure no scrap hanging over basket edges, wire rope or hanger.
- Monitor EAF operations and heat chemistry and communicate with Foreman.
- Assist in verification/calibration of scrap transfer cars.
- Prepare heat-wise log sheet and daily CMR report.
Additional Duties
- Assist Scrap Foreman in day-to-day activities.
- Oversee scrap unloading and inspection in the absence of Shift Foreman.
- Monitor EAF operations and communicate with Foreman in case of breakdowns.
- Monitor scrap-associated delays and inform Foreman for corrective action.
- Ensure cleaning of scrap spillages at loading area after charge preparation.
- Communicate with electrical/mechanical maintenance for breakdowns of gantry cranes and STCs.
- Monitor different categories of scrap stock under the gantry and inform Foreman.
- Ensure safe equipment operations and maintain housekeeping of the yard.
HS&E Responsibilities
Understand and follow organizational HS&E policies.
Follow safety instructions related to the job.
Report damaged PPE, unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.
Keep provided PPE in good, workable condition.
Avoid horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.
Report accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to the responsible person.
Attend safety trainings planned for the role.
Exercise the right to say no to any unsafe work.

- Ability to check and ensure PC and Level-3 system server operation
