The bundling operator role includes a preparation period of 18 months.
After preparation, promotion to senior intermediate roller may follow effective job handling, department recommendation, and an available vacancy.
Shift handover and equipment checks
- Ask the previous-shift roller about mill conditions and job-related issues.
- Check and clean hand tools; report damaged or missing tools to the shift in-charge.
- Check measuring devices for damage and calibration due dates.
- Ensure water and lubrication hoses, C-clamps, fastening bolts, and nuts are available; report shortages.
- Ensure spare guides are available on the shop floor.
- Check roll cooling-water flow and inspect for blocked nozzles.
- Tighten loose guides.
- Report unsafe conditions to the shift in-charge.
Requirements
- Complete an 18-month preparation period before possible promotion to senior intermediate roller, subject to effective job handling, department recommendation, and an available vacancy.
