Role Overview
Our client, a leading multinational engineering company involved in major Oil & Gas projects is seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer who will be responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle, from tender preparation and evaluation through contract award and post-award administration.
The successful candidate will ensure all contractual and commercial activities are executed efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with company policies and industry best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesTendering & Contract Preparation
- Prepare contractual and commercial aspects of tenders in consultation with user departments.
- Develop, prepare, and compile tender and contract documentation in coordination with Legal and Finance teams to ensure commercial viability, legal compliance, clear interpretation, and ease of administration.
- Develop bidder lists, including conducting pre-qualification exercises and evaluations.
- Administer tendering activities, including preparing tender clarifications, tender bulletins, and conducting pre-tender meetings.
Tender Evaluation & Award
- Coordinate technical and unpriced commercial evaluations of tenders.
- Conduct priced commercial evaluations of technically acceptable bids.
- Prepare techno-commercial evaluation reports and recommendations.
Contract Administration
- Prepare contracts for all goods and services requirements as requested by user departments.
- Provide post-award contract administration support as required.
- Review, advise, and negotiate revised terms, variation orders, change orders, claims, and other contractual matters.
Governance & Compliance
- Prepare Project Steering Committee, Tender Committee, and Dolphin Project Tender Committee (DPTC) submissions.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance procedures and contractual requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager Contracts Qatar.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in contract administration within the oil and gas industry.
- Previous Middle East experience is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of commercial and legal contracting practices.
- Experience with SAP.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizing, and teamwork capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC applications.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
