Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Specialist to manage contractual and commercial aspects of construction, consultancy, and service agreements across capital projects.

The successful candidate will oversee contract administration, tendering processes, claims management, commercial risk mitigation, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires strong expertise in FIDIC contracts, contract negotiations, and project commercial management.

Experience

  • Minimum 13 years of experience in contract management within construction, infrastructure, real estate, or capital projects.
  • Proven experience managing FIDIC-based contracts or similar contract frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in tendering, procurement support, claims management, and variation control.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related field.

Technical Skills

  • Contract drafting, review, and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC and construction contract frameworks.
  • Tendering and procurement processes.
  • Claims, disputes, and variation management.
  • Commercial and financial analysis.
  • Contract management systems and project management tools.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.

Mandatory Criteria

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience handling multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of contractual risk management and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer construction, consultancy, and service contracts.
  • Manage tendering activities including contractor prequalification, bid evaluations, and procurement support.
  • Monitor contract performance, financial commitments, deliverables, and payment schedules.
  • Evaluate and manage variations, change orders, extension of time requests, and contractor claims.
  • Conduct commercial assessments and negotiations to minimize project risks and financial exposure.
  • Maintain contract registers, insurance records, guarantees, warranties, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Project Teams on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
  • Identify contractual risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
