Senior Consultant - Sustainability

Role overview

Sustainability and certification

• Lead sustainability consultancy and green building certification projects through design, construction, and certification.
• Develop sustainability strategies, assessments, and compliance plans aligned with project requirements and rating systems including LEED, WELL, and Estidama.
• Manage certification credit assessments, documentation reviews, technical submissions, certification-body coordination, and responses to review comments.
• Guide design and construction teams on sustainable design, materials, energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and sustainability requirements.
• Review technical quality of sustainability and certification submissions.

Project and client management

• Deliver projects within agreed scope, programme, budget, and quality requirements.
• Act as primary contact for assigned projects and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Lead coordination meetings, design workshops, and technical discussions; monitor progress, resources, deliverables, and risks, and take corrective action.

Team and professional development

• Mentor and supervise junior consultants and engineers; quality-check team deliverables.
• Support knowledge sharing, internal training, and improvements to technical processes and delivery standards.
• Contribute to technical publications, industry events, presentations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives; stay current on standards and regulations.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant sustainability consultancy or green building certification/management experience, including substantial UAE/GCC experience.
• Proven independent project management through design and construction-stage delivery, including green certification systems such as LEED, WELL, Estidama, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable design, energy and water efficiency, sustainable materials, indoor environmental quality, construction sustainability, and UAE/GCC regulations and authority procedures.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination.
• LEED AP and WELL AP accreditations are required; Estidama PQP, Mostadam AP, or other relevant credentials are preferred.
