Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, valuation, and maintenance of value-based programs.
• Use complex SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other technical skills to improve processes and support value-based relationships.
• Research and report monthly activity, explaining how data reconciles and what it means for current and potential programs.
• Produce reports and complete ad hoc requests using Excel, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other analytical tools.
• Support payments to value-based specialists and help evaluate new value-based program opportunities.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of data analysis experience, or master's degree and 3 or more years of data analysis experience.
• At least 2 years of advanced experience developing complex SQL queries.
• At least 1 year of experience with healthcare-related data, such as provider or insurance data.
• Experience with Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formatting.
• Advanced experience working with large, complex data sets in large organizations.
• Experience communicating verbally and in writing with senior and executive leadership.

Preferred qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
• Experience with health insurance data, such as Medicare, Medicaid, claims, or premium data.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or Databricks; experience with PySpark and/or Python.

Workplace and travel

• The role is remote; occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.
• Home workspaces must provide at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload and a dedicated space that protects member PHI and HIPAA information.

Compensation

• Full-time compensation range is $89,000–$121,400 per year, with pay varying based on job-related factors.
• The role is eligible for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.
