Senior Backend Developer - Node,js (NestJS) Fintech Experience Mandatory

Role overview

Backend architecture and development

• Design and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Build fintech backend architecture and secure, documented REST APIs; define service boundaries, API contracts, data structures, and integration patterns.
• Resolve architecture, performance, and scalability problems; refactor legacy components and support reliability and maintainability.

Databases and transactions

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, relational models, schemas, indexes, relationships, migrations, and constraints; work with TypeORM or equivalent.
• Optimize complex queries and ensure transactional integrity, data consistency, concurrency handling, backup, recovery, and data-integrity practices.
• Build transaction, wallet, payment, and digital-asset services with reliable, traceable, idempotent processing, retries, reversals, reconciliation, and accurate balances.

Integrations and security

• Design and maintain integrations with payment, KYC/AML, card, blockchain, and other fintech providers; handle API authentication, webhooks, retries, timeouts, rate limits, and failures.
• Implement authentication, authorization, JWT and token controls, protect APIs and sensitive data, and apply secure credential handling and OWASP principles.

AWS, production, and quality

• Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS production services; support CI/CD, automated deployments, and environment-specific configuration.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Write unit, integration, and API tests; review code, uphold standards, and maintain readable, documented code.

Technical ownership

• Own backend modules from requirements through production and participate in architecture and technical design decisions.
• Provide guidance to backend developers, establish development standards, communicate technical risks, and drive production incidents to resolution.

Required experience

• At least 7 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong background in fintech, payments, banking, crypto, digital wallets, or financial technology platforms.
• Strong hands-on Node.js, production NestJS, and advanced TypeScript experience.
• Strong backend architecture and REST API experience; PostgreSQL or another production-grade relational database; TypeORM or equivalent ORM.
• Experience with database design and optimization, transactions, concurrency, locking, and data consistency.
• Hands-on authentication and authorization experience, API security knowledge, and secure backend development practices.
• Production AWS experience; Git, pull requests, branching, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD experience.
• Strong debugging and incident-resolution skills, independent problem analysis, and sound technical decision-making.

Additional experience considered a plus

• Redis and caching; RabbitMQ, Kafka, or SQS; microservices; Docker; Kubernetes or ECS; CI/CD tools and infrastructure automation.
• Observability and centralized logging, blockchain/Web3 integrations, Fireblocks or similar digital-asset infrastructure, regulated fintech, and high-availability or fault-tolerant systems.
