Overview

The Senior Associate – Business Excellence is a pivotal role mandated to establish and anchor a true Center of Excellence (CoE) for Modon Communities.

Truly living up to the "Excellence" in its title, this position is the driving force behind actively sourcing, adapting, and institutionalizing global best practices, robust operational policies, and standardized processes across the enterprise.

Moving beyond reactive problem-solving, the Senior Associate ensures that continuous improvement and operational superiority are permanently built into the organization's daily routines.

Senior Associate – Business Excellence (BusEx)

  • This role is critical for establishing and maintaining the operational discipline necessary to achieve Modon Communities' overarching business objectives.
  • The Senior Associate – Business Excellence acts as the central engine for continuous improvement, process architecture, and operational maturity across the entire enterprise.
  • 1.
  • Center of Excellence (CoE) & Global Best Practices
  • **Establish the CoE:**
  • Act as the foundational leader of the Business Excellence Center of Excellence, setting the enterprise standard for operational maturity and organizational agility.
  • **Global Benchmarking & Frameworks:**
  • Actively source, adapt, and deploy global best practices.
  • Drive organizational adherence to international quality and excellence frameworks (e.g., EFQM, ISO 9001/14001/45001).
  • **Policy & SOP Standardization:**
  • Draft, refine, and enforce robust operational policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), creating a centralized, accessible repository to ensure absolute consistency across all business units.
  • **Process Governance & Auditing:**
  • Institute a rigorous, recurring audit cadence to monitor compliance with newly established policies, ensuring optimized processes do not regress to legacy behaviours.
  • **KPI Formulation:**
  • Define and monitor leading and lagging process health metrics, linking localized operational performance directly to Modon Communities' overarching strategic objectives.
  • 2.
  • Target Operating Model (TOM) & Process Architecture
  • **TOM Redesign & Deployment:**
  • Lead the end-to-end analysis, structural redesign, and deployment of future-state Target Operating Models (TOM) across the enterprise, ensuring optimal utilization of People, Processes, and Technology.
  • **Enterprise Blueprinting:**
  • Architect and map complex cross-functional workflows using Tier-1 architecture tools (e.g., ARIS, Visio, Compelion etc) establishing clear baselines for current state operations.
  • **Value Stream Mapping (VSM):**
  • Conduct macro-level mapping of core enterprise value streams to identify major bottlenecks, redundancies, and non-value-added activities spanning multiple departments.
  • **Digital Transformation & Automation Readiness:**
  • Partner closely with IT and Data Analytics teams to identify, document, and standardize highly repetitive manual processes, preparing them for digitization or Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • **Workflow Standardization:**
  • Eliminate fragmented, localized workarounds by enforcing standardized process architectures across both corporate support services (Finance, HR, IT) and frontline asset management.
  • 3.
  • Lean Six Sigma & Trimodal Continuous Improvement
  • **Waste Elimination (Muda):**
  • Systematically apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify, quantify, and eradicate the "8 Wastes" (Defects, Overproduction, Waiting, Non-Utilized Talent, Transportation, Inventory, Motion, Extra Processing) from daily operations.
  • **Facilitate Kaizen (Speed):**
  • Rapidly deploy to the frontline to lead 0–8 week Kaizen sprint events, resolving immediate operational friction and delivering rapid, highly visible "Quick Wins."
  • **Champion A3 Problem-Solving (Tactical):**
  • Guide cross-functional teams through structured A3 thinking to systematically dismantle persistent, medium-complexity roadblocks (2–12 month resolution).
  • **Lead DMAIC Projects (Insights):**
  • Act as the lead facilitator for transformative, data-intensive DMAIC initiatives, relying on statistical process control to redesign core enterprise value streams and achieve multi-million-dirham breakthroughs.
  • **Data-Driven Root Cause Analysis:**
  • Leverage business intelligence and process mining concepts to uncover hidden inefficiencies, moving teams away from assumption-based problem-solving.

4. Silo Elimination, CX & Operational Harmonization

  • **Cross-Functional Integration:**
  • Act as the operational "connective tissue," actively dismantling deeply entrenched departmental silos to create a unified organizational workflow.
  • **Seamless Handoffs & SLAs:**
  • Design and govern frictionless handoffs by establishing strict internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between independent community assets and centralized corporate functions.
  • **Customer Journey Optimization (CX):**
  • Map and optimize end-to-end resident and customer journeys.
  • Guarantee that internal process optimizations directly translate into higher service quality, reliability, and frictionless experiences for end-users.
  • **Optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO):**
  • Ensure that harmonized processes directly maximize enterprise resource utilization and reduce the operational running costs of physical assets and facilities.
  • **Vendor & Third-Party Harmonization:**
  • Extend operational excellence standards to external contractors, FM providers, and suppliers, ensuring their workflows integrate seamlessly with Modon Communities' internal processes.

5. Cultural Transformation & Capability Building

  • **Drive CI Culture:**
  • Act as a relentless change agent, transforming continuous improvement from a temporary, project-based initiative into an embedded, daily organizational behaviour.
  • **Internal Certification Academies:**
  • Design, build, and deliver comprehensive internal training modules and certification programs (e.g., internal Yellow Belt or Green Belt training) focused on foundational Lean tools (5S, Visual Management, Ishikawa).
  • **Change Management Application:**
  • Apply structured change management methodologies (such as ADKAR) to successfully guide operational teams through disruptive process transitions, minimizing downtime and resistance.
  • **Innovation & Idea Funnel:**
  • Establish and manage a centralized "Idea Funnel" to capture, evaluate, and recognize grassroots efficiency suggestions from frontline employees.
  • **Coach and Mentor:**
  • Provide hands-on coaching to departmental leaders, community managers, and process owners, empowering them to continuously evaluate and sustain optimized workflows independently.

1. Academic & Educational Background

  • **Required Degree:**
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Quality Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • **Preferred Advancements:**
  • A Master’s degree (MBA, MSc in Project Management, or Engineering Management) is considered a strong differentiator.

2. Professional Certifications

  • **Lean Six Sigma Mastery:**
  • Active Lean Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification is strictly required (Black Belt is highly preferred).
  • **Excellence & Quality Frameworks:**
  • Certifications or formal training in EFQM, ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001), or Business Process Management (BPM/BPMN 2.0).
  • **Change Management:**
  • Formal certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci / ADKAR) is considered a strong differentiator.
