Senior Architect

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise architectural works for compliance with the contract and applicable guidelines.
• Recommend subcontractor selection and approval to the Resident Engineer with owner and client representatives.
• Review contract documents, drawings, shop drawings, and specifications; coordinate before construction activities begin.
• Report discrepancies against contract documents to the Project Principal and prepare corrective action plans.
• Help resolve contractor issues and provide recommendations to the Project Principal.
• Review material and finish samples for compliance with legislation and contract specifications.
• Inspect delivered materials for compliance with legislation, specifications, contract documents, and approvals.
• Resolve design and technical issues with the project engineering team.
• Support progress reports and verify cost matters for monthly payment certificates.
• Ensure responses comply with contract documents and work with the team leader to resolve problems.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings to address site issues, including drawing discrepancies.
• Monitor construction health and safety and stop work if unsafe practices are followed when required.

Candidate specification

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an internationally accredited university.
• Experience in a similar role, including residential developments and high-rise building schemes.
• Demonstrable architectural knowledge, including finishes and materials inspection.
• Ability to identify improvements, manage workload, and deliver across teams and projects.
• Leadership skills to build relationships and create effective working environments.
• Ability to manage multiple diverse teams across geographic and cultural settings.
