Senior Accountant

Overview

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, reports, and documentation for internal and external audiences.
• Assist to manage the accounting work.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager and other stakeholders to manage financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities.
• Assist in coordinate audits, working closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and address inquiries.
• Analyse financial data, trends, and variances to provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency.
• Assist in planning of the budget, forecast, and financial projections in alignment with company goals.
• Responsibility for inter-company reconciliation and interfaces.
• Support corporate request.
• Assist with the company’s cash flow.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as necessary.
• Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements in compliance with local regulations and IFRS.
• Take full ownership of VAT filings, corporate tax, and regulatory compliance in the UAE.

Skills & Experience Required

• BA degree in accounting
• At least 5 years accounting experience
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
• Proven experience in full-cycle accounting (bookkeeping to reporting)
• Strong knowledge of VAT and corporate tax in the UAE – must
• Excellent communication skills in English – Must.
• Experience in a global company or a multinational environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Independent and well-organized with multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize.
• Excellent excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., D365 – advantage)
