The Accounting and Tax Senior collaborates a team of Accountants in the UAE and Mauritius offices while aligning with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities Include Being The
***Onboarding Specialist***
providing support in business growth by incorporating new Clients with least Turnaround time as possible while assuring quality of output.
The SA may still provide bookkeeping for
***Tier 2 Clients***
while at the same time provide quality assurance to the output financial reports and tax returns for
***Tier 1-2 Clients***
prepared by accountants.
The reports are expected to be reliable, has complied with relevant IFRS and tax regulations and submitted timely whether monthly, quarterly or annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy
- 1.1.
- Understand the importance of revenue, productivity, chargeability and the client relationship and effectively apply this understanding to daily tasks.
- Leadership and People Management
- 2.1.
- Be responsible for the delivery of work with the right level of quality and timeliness for Tier 1-2 Clients
- 2.2.
- Provide training and guidance to team members focusing on task performance
- Operations
- 3.1.
- Be the
- ***Onboarding Specialist,***
- obtaining information from other teams/ Client, if required
- 3.2.
- Ensure appropriate controls, policies and processes are adhered to
- 3.3.
- Identify areas for improvement in policies, processes, procedures and systems
- 3.4.
- Implement changes to procedures, guidelines, when applicable.
- 3.5.
- Coordinate reviews, billing and other internal controls to ensure that they are conducted and observed
- 3.6.
- Collaborate and share knowledge/expertise across service lines and other TMF offices on specific deals
- 3.7.
- Support the implementation and updating of systems
- 3.8.
- Escalate technical issues and knowledge gaps, where required
- Client service
- 4.1.
- Build, develop and maintain relationships with clients, auditors as appropriate as assigned within the portfolio, building a first-rate professional relationship with assigned clients acting as a secondary point of contact
- 4.2.
- Ensure the delivery of services in accordance with each client engagement letter
- 4.3.
- Attend client meetings, as required
- 4.4.
- Share relevant information and updates to clients
- 4.5.
- Oversee completion of know your client procedures for all assigned clients
- Team-based responsibilities
- 5.1.
- Coordinate with the onboarding of new clients
- 5.2.
- Processing of accounting and tax associated work for Tier 2 Clients
- 5.3.
- Review, test and reconcile the work and data received from accountants for Tier 1 Clients
- 5.4.
- Assist with the coordination and preparation of monthly and annual trackers
- 5.5.
- Perform any other reasonable assignment requested by management
- 5.6.
- Personal utilization of 85% - whereby 85% of hours are aligned to client work and service delivery
Key Requirements
- Has completed Accountancy degree;
- At least 4 years relevant experience gained from sizable CPA firm or multinational company; plus tax experience gained in major international professional firms is an advantage;
- Sound knowledge of international accounting practices (IFRS) and key updates;
- Self-motivated, well-organized and a strong sense of responsibility with positive working attitude;
- Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office;
- Experience in Focus, QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP and other key accounting software is a differential;
- Good command of written and spoken English, Arabic will be an advantage.
- Other characteristics: reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
