Senior Accountant

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
• Reconcile bank accounts; monitor cash flow, payments, and outstanding customer balances.
• Review invoices, supplier bills, expenses, and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability; report variances to management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Maintain UAE VAT and corporate tax reporting records and coordinate with tax advisers as needed.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit documentation.
• Maintain internal financial controls and compliance with company policies.
• Resolve billing and payment matters with internal teams; support junior accounting staff and process improvements.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; UAE university graduates are preferred.
• At least five years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting role.
• Fluency in Arabic and good English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and UAE tax requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• ACCA, CPA, or CMA certification is an advantage.

Pay

• AED 12,000–15,000 per month.

• Work location is in person in the UAE.
