About the role
Lead creation of a new platform from architecture through delivery, set technical direction, build the engineering team, and remain actively involved in development.
Work closely with the founder on product strategy and roadmap decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and develop a scalable, multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Design reliable, high-volume event-driven systems with queues, webhooks, retries, and delivery tracking, targeting 99.9% uptime.
- Lead integrations with third-party platforms and APIs, including Meta, Google, CRMs, e-commerce platforms, and MENA payment providers.
- Develop usage-based billing and metering capabilities.
- Recruit, lead, and develop backend, frontend, and mobile engineers.
- Own platform security, data privacy, and compliance requirements, including UAE and Saudi PDPL.
- Partner with the founder on the product roadmap and translate priorities into technical delivery.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 3 years leading engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on backend expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Proven experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms with billing and usage metering.
- Production experience with high-volume, real-time APIs and a track record of delivering efficiently with small teams.
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred experience
- Experience within a CPaaS, SaaS, or API-first business.
- Hands-on experience with Meta platform APIs or partner programmes.
- Experience developing LLM-powered products or conversational AI solutions.
Pay
- Pay starts at AED 8,000 per month; the posting also describes salary and equity as part of the offer.
