A transport company is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate accounting records, prepare management reports, and ensure compliance.
Accounting responsibilities
- Maintain customer, supplier, cash, and bank ledgers.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
- Monitor and control company expenses, reporting variances to management.
- Issue invoices for clients, school parents, and service contracts; follow up on payments and maintain aging reports.
- Verify supplier, fuel, maintenance, and spare-parts invoices; ensure payments are made within agreed credit periods.
- Track maintenance payments and invoices, and contact vendors to check spare-parts price changes.
- Prepare monthly salary sheets and WPS files; maintain employee advances, deductions, and end-of-service settlements.
- Assist with VAT returns and filing, with complete supporting documentation.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
- Ensure accounting policies comply with Qatar financial regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience; transport or logistics experience in Qatar is preferred.
- Proficiency in Tally, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of WPS, VAT filing, and local financial compliance.
- Excellent MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills in both English and Urdu.
- Driver license required.
Compensation
- Pay is QAR 3,500–4,500 per month.
Workplace
- Work is in person.
- Candidates must be able to commute to Doha or plan to relocate before starting.
