How This Role Works
Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, patient care areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and wayfinding, and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, hazards, or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with site leadership, healthcare staff, and Allied Universal management regarding incidents and security-related activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be willing to receive required hospital vaccinations.
- Must be able to work in a hospital morgue.
- Must be able to restrain individuals as needed.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
