Hands-on security engineering role implementing and supporting Fortinet Secure SD-WAN across a customer's global, multi-site network.
Work under a senior engineer or team lead on site rollouts, configuration, troubleshooting, migrations and business-as-usual operations.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and Secure SD-WAN to approved designs and standards.
- Configure SD-WAN policies, IPSec tunnels, BGP and OSPF routing, and application steering and SLA rules.
- Execute site rollouts and onboarding using FortiManager templates and zero-touch provisioning.
- Provide operational support, incident and problem management, and troubleshooting across WAN and SD-WAN.
- Monitor network health and perform routine maintenance using FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
- Support migration from legacy WAN or MPLS to Fortinet SD-WAN.
- Resolve connectivity, performance and configuration issues within SLAs and escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Maintain configuration documentation, as-built records and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure reliable, secure connectivity.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of network engineering experience with hands-on Fortinet FortiGate deployment and support.
- Practical Fortinet SD-WAN, IPSec VPN and BGP/OSPF dynamic routing experience.
- Working experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for management, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting multi-site enterprise WAN environments and site rollouts.
- Solid networking fundamentals, WAN technologies and network security knowledge; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- NSE 4 is required or equivalent experience; NSE 5/6/7 is advantageous and CCNA/CCNP is a plus.
- Good communication and documentation skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to work on-site and provide shift or after-hours support as required.
