Role overview

The AI-Native Team Coach enables teams to adopt, apply, and continuously improve an AI-Native delivery model.

This shared Lean-Agile Centre of Excellence role supports multiple teams, builds delivery capability, and helps teams become increasingly autonomous.

The role coaches delivery processes and ways of working; business Product roles and the AI Value Architect own value, priorities, and solution direction, while teams own delivery accountability.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to evolving an AI-Native delivery model using Lean, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban, adapted to organisational, security, and operational needs.
  • Coach teams to establish consistent practices and develop greater autonomy as their capability matures.
  • Help teams use outcome, flow, quality, and team-health measures for learning, decisions, and improvement.
  • Identify appropriate AI-supported delivery opportunities while maintaining human judgement, review, validation, and accountability.
  • Help teams address impediments and facilitate broader intervention for systemic constraints.
  • Build teams’ capability to manage planning, coordination, reviews, and improvement activities.
  • Share delivery learning, reusable practices, effective AI uses, and improvement opportunities across teams and the Centre of Excellence.

Education and experience

  • At least 8 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching Agile teams and improving technology delivery systems in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience establishing teams or helping them adopt, stabilise, and mature new ways of working.
  • Experience coaching multiple teams or working across a portfolio, division, or value stream.
  • Experience using delivery, flow, outcome, quality, and team-health measures for evidence-based improvement.
  • Practical understanding of AI capabilities in planning, backlog refinement, analysis, development, testing, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong coaching, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Experience using Jira or comparable work-management and delivery tools.
  • An appropriate coaching or Agile certification, such as SAFe Practice Consultant, ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, Certified Scrum Professional, PSM, or equivalent, is requested; small, cross-functional, or highly AI-enabled team experience is preferred.

Methods and capabilities

  • Strong practical knowledge of Lean and Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, flow, empiricism, and continuous improvement.
  • AI capabilities should be used with appropriate human judgement, review, validation, and accountability.
