Safety Officer
About This Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our construction project team in Al Wakra, Qatar. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in construction site safety, be well-versed with Qatar Labor Law and HSE regulations, and ensure full compliance with project safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies on site.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all workers follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
- Prepare and maintain HSE reports, incident reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers and site engineers on safety matters.
- Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local regulations.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities regarding safety compliance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Qatar.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations in Qatar.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle multiple site activities and ensure zero-incident culture.
Mandatory Certifications (Required):
- NEBOSH IGC (Mandatory)
- OSHA Certification
- First Aid & Fire Fighting Training
- Valid Qatar ID (Transferable Visa Preferred)
