Risk & Controls Analyst (Cyber & Technology)
Role Overview
Support the Cyber & Technology GRC team in operating and continuously improving SSE's cyber and technology risk and control framework.
Provide analysis, coordination, and administration across risk assessments, controls, assurance, issues, remediation, governance, and reporting.
Support IT and operational technology environments across digital, data, cloud, applications, infrastructure, identity and access, third parties, change, and emerging technology.

Responsibilities
- Support risk assessments by gathering information, understanding impacts, and maintaining accurate records of risks and actions.
- Review control evidence, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and follow up on actions to address weaknesses.
- Analyse trends, prepare dashboards, and produce reports for managers and senior leaders.
- Coordinate reviews and help colleagues understand and apply risk and control processes.
- Contribute ideas, support system and process changes, and maintain practical guidance.
Experience and skills
- Experience or transferable skills in risk, controls, assurance, audit, cyber security, technology, data analysis, or a related area.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to reach clear, evidence-based conclusions.
- Clear, inclusive communication and the ability to work with people from different professional backgrounds.
- Good organisation, accurate record keeping, deadline management, curiosity, collaboration, and willingness to learn.
Location and working pattern
- Spend 50% of the working week at a base location in Glasgow, Perth, Reading, or Havant.
- The role is permanent and full-time, with Flexible First options available.
Salary
- Salary is £36,200–£54,400 plus a performance-related bonus.
