Compliance and partnerships

  • Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law, HHSRS requirements, regulatory standards, and internal governance.
  • Ensure inspections and remedial works are completed within statutory timescales.
  • Manage operative and contractor performance, contractual obligations, quality standards, and value for money.
  • Lead regulatory inspections, audits, and assurance activities with clear evidence of compliance and performance.
  • Work with Housing Management, Compliance, Planned Works, Legal Services, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the strategic development of the Housing Repairs Service as legislation and regulatory expectations evolve.

  • Experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams to achieve demanding performance targets.
  • Understanding of Awaab's Law, HHSRS, regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance.
  • Experience managing contractors and external partner performance and quality.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse performance information and implement measurable improvement strategies.
  • Commitment to resident-focused service and improving housing conditions across Bristol.

  • The council states that hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of roles, combining home and office working according to service needs and individual choice.

Benefits

  • The advertised rewards include flexible working and flexitime, Local Government Pension Scheme membership, and generous annual leave.
