Reporting Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design business analysis and data-recording systems; maintain databases and ensure data accuracy.
• Review reports to identify and resolve errors; collect and analyze data for business reports.
• Create reports, dashboards, analytical tools, and automated reporting processes aligned to business objectives and KPIs.
• Use SQL and other coding languages to extract data; create processes for storing new data.
• Communicate findings and present results clearly to internal and external audiences.
• Work with business leaders and departments, including marketing and sales, to identify reporting needs and support goals.
• Monitor business and financial trends; analyze customer requirements and quantify value propositions when needed.
• Administer reporting platforms and create custom reporting and data fields.

Education and experience

• Completed post-secondary education in a related field.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, graphs, and charts.
• Experience with analytical platforms, data aggregation, and analysis tools across disciplines.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI.
• One to three years of financial or business analyst experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, or VBA is an asset; experience with SAP, object-oriented programming, or other data analysis programs is also an asset.

• Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Attention to detail and general knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes, and information flow.
• Excel and/or Power BI certifications are an asset; no personal certification, licensing, or registration is required.
