Position Details

Replacement position with one vacancy at Toronto General Hospital.

Department: Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory.

Reports to the Nurse Manager.

The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre provides specialized cardiovascular care through a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation

  • Salary range is $37.47 to $46.84.
  • The position is permanent full time.

Schedule

  • The role is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Duties

  • Perform duplex vascular ultrasound imaging procedures according to procedure manuals for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound, medical imaging, and ancillary equipment.
  • Prepare, write, and document procedures and test results, including OHIP billing.
  • Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety, and quality improvement activities.
  • Perform related patient-care responsibilities to support optimal patient care.
  • Follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Complete a three-year community college program in ultrasound or a recognized equivalent.
  • Complete a recognized post-diploma ultrasound program or a recognized equivalent.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity during intimate patient contact situations.
  • Meet patient care needs and maintain computer literacy.
  • Be aware of hospital emergency codes and procedures.
