The position will shape range governance and improve commercial, customer, and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the range team.
- Own range review programmes across multiple categories and business areas.
- Develop range governance and coordinate implementation across commercial and operational functions.
- Deliver listings, delistings, substitutions, and range changes accurately and on time.
- Use customer, sales, space, margin, and operational data to support decisions.
- Assess risks, manage stock transitions, and improve range productivity.
- Establish reporting and governance forums and influence senior stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement across range processes, systems, and ways of working.
What the employer is looking for
- Significant experience in range, category, buying, merchandising, or commercial planning.
- Experience in a retail, wholesale, or FMCG environment.
- Experience managing complex end-to-end range review or change programmes.
- Previous people leadership experience and ability to develop a high-performing team.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and project management capability.
- Understanding of supply chain, stock management, operational execution, and stakeholder influence.
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable in a fast-paced complex organisation.
- Continuous-improvement mindset with confidence to challenge established processes.
