About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute RF security assessments using SDR-based testing across Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, RFID, GNSS, LoRa, telemetry, and data link systems
• Identify vulnerabilities in wireless protocols including spoofing, jamming, replay, and injection attacks
• Assess GNSS security including signal spoofing, meaconing, and positioning integrity
• Evaluate RF and communications security for embedded and IoT devices, including FPV and UAV data links
• Perform security architecture review for secure communications systems: IPSec, MACsec, VPN, and cryptographic protocol analysis
• Conduct protocol fuzzing, encryption protocol analysis, and symbolic execution
• Contribute to the design of secure RF architectures including Root of Trust, key management, and secure attestation
• Develop RF security tooling, signal capture/replay frameworks, and custom SDR-based attack tools
• Produce detailed technical security reports and threat models for RF/wireless systems

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on SDR experience (GNU Radio, HackRF, USRP, or similar) for signal capture, analysis, and replay
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals: modulation, spectrum analysis, link budgets, signal propagation
• Experience assessing BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, RFID/NFC, LoRa, and/or GNSS security
• Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ for RF tooling and signal processing
• Understanding of cryptographic protocols and their application in wireless systems (PKI, AES, ECC, digital signatures)
• Experience with protocol fuzzing and vulnerability research in wireless/RF domains
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and security reports

Desirable Skills

• Embedded firmware development and analysis (C/C++, RTOS, MQTT, CAN, OBD2)
• Control systems and navigation security: sensor fusion, Kalman filters, INS/DGPS, AHRS
• Automotive wireless security: V2X, AUTOSAR, ISO/SAE 21434, ECU communications
• OT/critical infrastructure wireless: smart meter RF, SCADA telemetry, industrial wireless
• Machine learning for RF security: signal classification, anomaly detection, network traffic analysis
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST 7628, or related standards
• Experience with UAV/FPV RF systems and associated security vulnerabilities
