The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in managing all cost and commercial aspects of the project, ensuring effective financial control, contract compliance, and value management throughout the project lifecycle.
The role involves reviewing contractor payments, assessing variations and claims, and maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting.
The Quantity Surveyor plays a key role in evaluating cost impacts, ensuring proper valuation of works, and supporting change management and contractual processes.
Working closely with planning, technical, and project teams, the role ensures alignment between cost, scope, and schedule, while providing reliable commercial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery.
Your Role
- Support the Project Manager in cost control, commercial management, payment review, change management, claims review and cost reporting throughout the project duration.
- Review Contractor payment applications and provide recommendations to the Client in accordance with the agreed governance and approval process.
- Support the review of variations, change requests, claims, EOT cost implications, cost impacts, provisional sums, commercial risks, forecasts, cash flow and cost reports.
- Maintain commercial registers, variation registers, payment records, cost reports and other commercial tracking documents required for project reporting and decision-making.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, senior discipline engineers, planning engineer and document control team to ensure commercial assessments are supported by appropriate technical, programme and contractual information.
- Support the assessment of contractor submissions in relation to quantities, rates, valuation, cost substantiation, scope changes and commercial entitlement, and provide recommendations for Client review and decision.
About You
- Strong experience in cost management, contract administration, payment assessment, variation assessment, claims support and commercial reporting.
- Experience in data centre, mission-critical, MEP-intensive, industrial or technically complex projects will be preferred.
- Familiarity with project controls, cost reporting, contract administration and the commercial management requirements of multidisciplinary construction projects in Qatar or the wider region.
- Ability to work closely with planning and technical teams to assess time and cost impacts, support EOT reviews and maintain commercial visibility for the Client.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, change control processes, payment procedures and commercial reporting protocols will be required.
