Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer

About This Role

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all materials, workmanship, and project processes comply with the approved quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements in ELV/ MEP/ low current system company. The role oversees quality assurance planning, inspection activities, testing, documentation control, and continuous improvement to deliver defect-free projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Quality Assurance (QA)

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan and related quality procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 as applicable).
• Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to define quality requirements.
• Prepare ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), checklists, and QA procedures.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to integrate quality requirements into project execution.

2.Quality Control (QC)

• Conduct inspections of incoming materials, site works, fabrication, installation, and final handover activities.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, standards, and ITPs.
• Witness and verify tests such as Fiber Splicing, Fluke test, etc.
• Monitor subcontractors’ quality activities and ensure adherence to project quality requirements.
• Close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and verify corrective and preventive actions.

3.Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain records of quality documentation/ QA-QC checklists.
• Ensure timely submission of QA/QC reports, MIRs, WIRs, test certificates, and QA-related deliverables.
• Prepare weekly/monthly quality performance reports for management.
• Support the preparation of project QA/QC dossiers and final handover documentation.
• Maintain a database of lessons learned related to quality issues for future project reference.

4.Coordination & Communication

• Communicate quality issues and solutions with project teams, consultants, and clients.
• Attend site coordination meetings to update quality performance and inspection status.
• Liaise with third-party inspectors.
• Conduct pre-inspection meetings with subcontractors to align on inspection readiness criteria.
• Provide quality briefings to new site personnel during onboarding.

5.Continuous Improvement

• Recommend improvements to processes, materials, and workmanship based on quality trends.
• Participate in internal and external Projects quality audits.
• Provide training and guidance to site teams on quality procedures and best practices .
• Develop preventive action strategies targeting high-risk activities before execution begins.

6.Testing & Commissioning Support

• Review and validate test procedures submitted by vendors or subcontractors before execution.
• Verify calibration sheets for testing tools (e.g., OTDR, multimeter, fluke tester) prior to use.
• Participate in integrated testing and commissioning sessions with multi-disciplinary teams.

7. Risk & Compliance

• Perform quality risk assessments during pre-construction and update them as the project progresses.
• Support the preparation of quality compliance documentation during Internal and External audits.

8. Additional Field & Technical Support

• Review mock-up installations and ensure they meet required standards before resource deployment.
• Conduct "readiness inspections" to verify that site conditions are suitable before starting key activities.
