QHSE Supervisor - Cold Store

Role purpose

Produce quality and dispatch

• Supervise quality control from inbound receiving through storage, processing, cross-docking, and outbound dispatch; conduct sampling and product inspections.
• Set and maintain grading and acceptance standards; segregate prime, rejected, damaged, and expired products and block expired items from dispatch.
• Record findings, verify items against approved images, specifications, and system information, and escalate recurring supplier issues.
• Audit inbound and outbound quality, temperature, pre-cooling, pallet condition, packaging, labelling, quantity, and FIFO/FEFO compliance.

Food safety, hygiene, and safety

• Monitor UAE food-safety compliance and applicable Dubai Municipality Foodwatch / DM Checked updates across receiving, storage, cross-docking, processing, and dispatch.
• Inspect hygiene, GMP, cold-room temperatures, temperature records, product segregation, FIFO/FEFO, food-contact areas, pest-control compliance, and safety conditions.
• Investigate contamination, spoilage, accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage; recommend corrective actions and maintain records.
• Monitor PPE, forklift and pedestrian separation, clear routes and exits, and emergency equipment; deliver toolbox talks and support safety drills.

Inventory, equipment, and reporting

• Supervise cycle counts and physical stock checks; investigate variances, coordinate recounts, and prevent unauthorized stock adjustments.
• Verify product location and traceability, support periodic stock counts, and address recurring inventory discrepancies.
• Coordinate calibration checks and records for weighing scales, thermometers, temperature probes, and other monitoring devices; remove defective equipment from use.
• Prepare quality and safety reports, maintain QHSE/QC/inventory documentation, support audits, and track rejections, complaints, variances, deviations, incidents, and corrective actions.

Training

• Conduct shift-start quality and safety briefings and train staff in produce handling, grading, hygiene, GMP, FIFO/FEFO, cold-chain, food safety, PPE, and workplace safety.
• Coach receiving, QC, and warehouse associates; maintain attendance and competency records and provide refresher training for recurring errors.

Mandatory qualifications and experience

• PIC Level 3 certification is mandatory.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in quality, food safety, QHSE, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
• UAE food-industry or cold-store experience is mandatory; knowledge of Dubai Municipality / Foodwatch requirements is required.
• Experience with produce receiving, grading, handling, cold-store environments, cycle counts, and variance investigations is sought.

Preferred qualifications

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Occupational Health & Safety is preferred.
• Preferred credentials or exposure include HACCP, food safety, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, IOSH or NEBOSH, and internal auditor certification.
• Hands-on fruits and vegetables / fresh-produce experience and experience in 3PL or food processing are preferred.

• Pay is AED 6,000–6,500 per month.
