The role is based in Jeddah and is responsible for maintaining a safety-first, quality-always approach.
Staffing and laboratory management
- Review daily staffing schedules, subordinate KPIs and performance evaluations; arrange training.
- Monitor equipment calibration, verify equipment against standards, update reports and resolve supplier-related calibration gaps.
- Manage laboratory consumables, glassware and chemical inventory, obtain vendor quotations and raise purchase requests.
Laboratory proficiency, safety and equipment
- Coordinate proficiency samples, performance testing, results compilation and timely submissions; manage internal repeatability and reproducibility activities.
- Oversee chemical disposal, retain-sample tracking, risk assessments, SOP reviews, laboratory audits and nonconformance reviews.
- Coordinate contaminant sampling and reporting, laboratory environmental monitoring, new-equipment qualification, troubleshooting and glass-breakage investigations.
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum degree in Food Science or another science discipline and at least two years of food-industry experience.
- Thorough knowledge of product lines and manufacturing processes, and general knowledge of the food industry.
- Understand policies related to international products; knowledge of FSSC 22K, HACCP, GMP, allergen awareness, and food and facility security.
- Show initiative, be results-oriented and work well in a team under pressure in a fast-changing global environment.
