QA Team Lead

Role overview

Automation and team leadership

• Build and maintain Playwright and Selenium automated test suites; integrate them with Azure DevOps CI/CD quality gates.
• Set automation standards and use LambdaTest, KaneAI, and the GS1 AI Workbench (Claude) for test design, coverage analysis, and defect triage.
• Lead and mentor QA Engineers, review test scripts, and partner with the QA Manager on team performance and workload planning.

Quality strategy and reporting

• Own functional, regression, integration, performance, and accessibility test strategy for assigned domains.
• Track defect escape rate, automation coverage, cycle time, and MTTD; improve Secure SDLC quality gates and human review of AI-assisted tests.
• Promote BDD/TDD shift-left testing, manage Azure DevOps test plans and defects, and report quality metrics through dashboards.

Architecture and collaboration

• Work with Architects on system boundaries, event-driven flows, API contracts, and traceable acceptance criteria.
• Support quality escalation and defect triage; report to the QA Manager and VP, including GAW telemetry and Squared Up dashboards.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years in software quality assurance, including 2+ years in a lead or senior QA role.
• Production experience with Playwright using TypeScript or JavaScript and Selenium WebDriver in Java, including Page Object Model.
• Proficiency in Java, TypeScript or JavaScript; experience with CI/CD test integration and REST API testing.
• Demonstrated QA leadership, mentoring, code review, and Agile/Scrum experience.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Additional skills

• Nice to have: AI-assisted QA tools, LLMs, event-driven or microservices testing, Domain-Driven Design, and GS1 standards or supply-chain data platforms.
• Also beneficial: JMeter, k6, Azure Load Testing, WCAG 2.1/2.2 accessibility testing, STQB certification, Azure App Insights, and SquaredUp or Power BI dashboards.
