QA/QC Engineer

Role purpose

About the company

Quality management

• Implement the company Quality Management System across assigned projects.
• Prepare, update, and monitor Project Quality Plans; prepare and review Method Statements and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, contracts, Saudi Building Code requirements, and company standards.
• Monitor quality performance and report to the Project Department Manager.

Inspections and non-conformance

• Conduct daily site inspections and verify work against approved drawings, specifications, material submittals, and workmanship standards.
• Raise and follow up Inspection Requests, attend stakeholder inspections, and monitor field and laboratory test results.
• Ensure materials are approved before use and inspect structural, architectural, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP-related works.
• Issue NCRs, follow up corrective and preventive actions, coordinate closure, and recommend measures to prevent recurring issues.

Documentation and coordination

• Maintain inspection records, quality logs, material approvals, test reports, technical submittals, and NCR registers.
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports, KPI reports, and management summaries; track inspection outcomes and corrective-action closures.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, technical office, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and approved laboratories.
• Support resolution of quality issues before they affect project cost, programme, or handover; ensure subcontractor compliance with project quality procedures.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects.
• Experience with villas, residential compounds, multi-storey residential buildings, or similar projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and relevant construction standards; practical inspection experience across concrete, blockwork, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP works.
• Experience dealing with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and testing laboratories.

Technical and personal skills

• Ability to read construction drawings and technical specifications; prepare and review ITPs and Method Statements; and manage NCR and CAPA processes.
• Knowledge of inspection procedures, material approvals, laboratory testing, consultant inspection requirements, and quality documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Excel; familiarity with ERP systems such as Odoo is preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting, documentation, analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, attention-to-detail, and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Certifications and languages

• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is preferred; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is an added advantage.
• Fluent Arabic communication skills and good English communication skills, including technical reporting and correspondence.
• Must be eligible to work in Saudi Arabia.

Work environment and availability

• The role requires regular construction-site inspections, walking sites, accessing different work areas, and working in an active construction environment.
• Candidates should be available to join within 30 days or less.
