QA/QC Engineer for Road and Infrastructure

Role overview

Quality planning and documentation

• Prepare, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans, and method statements.
• Review and submit material submittals, shop drawings, and asphalt, concrete, and sub-base mix designs for consultant approval.
• Maintain inspection requests, test reports, non-conformance reports, calibration certificates, and as-built records.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and company QA/QC procedures.

Site inspection and testing

• Inspect earthworks, sub-grade, sub-base, base course, asphalt laying and compaction, kerbs, interlock paving, road markings, and signage.
• Inspect storm-water drainage, sewerage, water supply, irrigation, ducting, culverts, manholes, and street-lighting foundations.
• Coordinate field and laboratory tests, including compaction, CBR, Marshall, core, concrete cube, pipe-pressure, and CCTV tests.
• Verify levels, thickness, and alignment against approved drawings with the survey team.
• Raise inspection requests with the consultant and attend joint inspections.

Materials and non-conformance

• Inspect incoming materials and monitor compliance, storage, handling, and traceability.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers and subcontractors for quality compliance.
• Identify defects, issue non-conformance reports, investigate root causes, and follow corrective and preventive actions through closure.
• Maintain punch and snag lists and ensure items are closed before handover.

Coordination, audits, and handover

• Act as the main quality contact for the client, consultant, and authorities; attend progress and quality meetings.
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports and brief site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors on quality requirements and hold points.
• Conduct internal audits and support external and client audits.
• Compile handover dossiers, test certificates, and authority completion and NOC documentation.
• Follow company HSE policies and report unsafe conditions observed during inspections.

Qualifications

• At least two years of QA/QC experience in road construction; two years as a QA/QC Civil Engineer is specified as required.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• The candidate should understand QA/QC processes and have strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to construction quality.

Workplace and employment

• Full-time, permanent role with in-person work location.

Compensation

• Pay starts at AED 4,000 per month.
