QA/QC Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor contractor QA/QC plans, method statements, and inspection and test plans against project specifications.
• Conduct pre-pour, in-progress, and final inspections; issue inspection requests or notices of non-compliance when needed.
• Witness concrete, steel, soil compaction, welding, and other material testing; verify results against approved standards.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications for quality compliance.
• Maintain inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, punch lists, and as-built quality records.
• Coordinate with contractor QA/QC and site engineers and third-party testing laboratories.
• Monitor non-conformance closeout and implementation of corrective actions.
• Attend site quality meetings and report status to the QA/QC Manager and client.
• Support handover with quality dossiers and as-built records.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of QA/QC experience on building, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
• Familiarity with ITP development, NCR management, and inspection documentation.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.

Skills and competencies

• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office, quality management software, and site documentation systems.
• Ability to work independently on-site with minimal supervision.
• Sound understanding of construction sequencing and quality failure risk areas.

Work conditions

• Full-time, on-site position based at a project construction site with regular inspection rounds.
• May require early morning or evening site visits for concrete pours or other critical activities.

Compensation

• Salary is AED 8,000 to AED 12,000 per month.
