QA Engineer

The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of software applications by planning, designing, and executing comprehensive testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

This role verifies that software products meet functional and non-functional requirements, identifies defects, and supports the delivery of high-quality solutions that provide an excellent user experience.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and user acceptance testing.

The role performs both manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, usability, compatibility, performance, and reliability across web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

The position identifies, documents, prioritizes, and tracks software defects using issue management tools while working closely with software developers to investigate root causes, verify bug fixes, and ensure timely resolution.

It participates in requirement reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and code reviews to ensure software quality is incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.

In addition, the role develops and maintains automated test frameworks, executes API testing, validates database integrity, and supports continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to improve testing efficiency and release quality.

It prepares test reports, quality metrics, and technical documentation while recommending process improvements that strengthen quality assurance practices and software delivery.

The role collaborates closely with software engineers, product managers, business analysts, DevOps engineers, UX designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure applications meet business requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.

It continuously evaluates emerging testing tools, automation technologies, and industry best practices to improve testing effectiveness and operational excellence.

Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, software testing principles, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and defect lifecycle management.

Ability to develop comprehensive testing strategies and ensure high levels of software quality.

Proficiency in manual testing, automated testing frameworks, test management tools, defect tracking systems, API testing tools, database validation, scripting or programming languages, and CI/CD environments.

Familiarity with performance testing, security testing, and cloud-based testing platforms is advantageous.

Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, usability, compatibility, and user acceptance testing techniques, as well as application architecture, databases, APIs, and software integration concepts.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify software defects, perform root cause analysis, evaluate technical issues, and recommend effective quality improvements.

Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills with the ability to prepare clear test plans, defect reports, quality metrics, and technical documentation while working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to manage multiple testing priorities while delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced and collaborative development
