Role Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the organization's accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records and reporting.

This role oversees the general ledger, financial close process, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and accounting team while supporting strategic financial management and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities include managing daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and cash management.

The role oversees month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and completed within established timelines.

The position prepares and reviews financial statements, management reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

It analyzes financial data, investigates variances, and provides recommendations to improve financial accuracy and operational performance.

In addition, the role establishes and monitors internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to safeguard organizational assets and strengthen financial governance.

It coordinates internal and external audit activities, supports tax compliance and statutory reporting, and implements corrective actions and process improvements based on audit findings and business requirements.

The role leads, mentors, and develops the accounting team by promoting high standards of performance, accountability, and continuous professional development.

It collaborates closely with finance leadership, operations, procurement, human resources, and other business functions to support budgeting, financial planning, business initiatives, and organizational decision-making.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, general ledger management, financial reconciliation, budgeting, taxation, and internal control frameworks.

Ability to oversee complex accounting operations while ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, spreadsheet applications, financial reporting tools, and data analysis software.

Familiarity with financial automation, business intelligence tools, and process improvement methodologies is advantageous.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret financial information, identify risks, resolve accounting issues, and implement effective financial controls.

Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder collaboration skills with the ability to supervise accounting teams, manage multiple priorities, and build effective working relationships across the organization.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to management, auditors, regulators, and non-financial stakeholders.

High integrity, attention to detail, sound professional judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting continuous improvement in accounting operations.
