The position combines hands-on engineering with technical investigation, delivery leadership, and secure product development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python applications for high-assurance security solutions.
- Translate technical requirements into plans, estimates, and deliverable work packages.
- Create design records, documentation, training material, and delivery artefacts.
- Review code, documentation, and training content for quality and compliance.
- Participate in Agile sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Investigate customer issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide third-line support.
- Recommend improvements to engineering methods, tools, and team processes.
- Provide technical input to commercial, product, project, sales, and marketing colleagues.
Requirements
- Commercial Python software development experience.
- Ability to contribute across design, implementation, documentation, testing, and technical support.
- Experience in iterative or Agile delivery with structured sprint activities.
- Methodical investigation and clear communication of findings and recommendations.
- Willingness to provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
- Availability to work from the Nottingham site one to two days per week.
Compensation
- The stated salary range is £50,000 to £55,000.

- The position is based in Nottingham, England.
- The role requires site presence one to two days per week, indicating a hybrid arrangement.
