Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Python and Django application delivery, ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Drive technical design discussions, architecture decisions, and implementation strategy for complex modules.
• Mentor developers through code reviews, pairing, and guidance on engineering practices.
• Own estimation, planning, execution, predictable delivery, and risk management.
• Set coding standards, testing practices, and CI/CD-aligned development workflows.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement long-term fixes.
• Apply secure development practices for authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to turn requirements into robust technical solutions.

Minimum qualifications

• 9–11 years of overall software development experience with strong Python expertise.
• Strong hands-on experience building web applications and services with Django.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, backend architecture, and scalable application development.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree; listed credentials include BTech, MTech, MCA, or MSc.

Technical skills

• Primary technologies are Python and Django.
• REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, and Docker are listed as good-to-have skills.
• Preferred experience includes modular Django architectures, ORM optimization, query tuning, caching, and performance profiling.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and release management for backend services is preferred.

Preferred qualifications

• Team or workstream leadership, mentoring, and driving engineering best practices are preferred.
• Stakeholder management and clear communication of technical trade-offs are preferred.
