The position is a techno-functional Technical Business Data Analyst role.
The role is based in London, UK.
Compensation is described as competitive, including a bonus; no pay amount or cadence is given.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Translate requirements into detailed user stories and functional specifications.
- Analyze source systems, perform data mapping, and create source-to-target mapping documents for data engineers.
- Support data validation and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with relevant teams, including other business analysts.
Required skills
- Strong business analysis and requirements-gathering skills.
- Good knowledge and experience in insurance and specialty reinsurance, including property and casualty.
- Experience creating user stories for development teams.
- Experience with source system analysis and data mapping.
- Source-to-target mapping experience, including transformation logic and derived measures.
- SQL for analysis and STTM creation, including Snowflake and legacy systems.
- Ability to interpret lineage and metadata.
- Understanding of conceptual models or medallion layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Ability to engage business stakeholders and product owners and convert functional specifications into data specifications.
Preferred skills
- Snowflake experience is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards is preferred.
- Experience in agile environments and CI/CD practices is preferred.
