Role Overview
Oversees procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.
Coordinates sourcing and delivery of manufacturing inputs to minimize downtime and control material costs.
Procurement Responsibilities
- Secure raw materials, chemicals for mill operations, and packaging materials.
- Manage MRO inventory and order Yankee dryer parts, cutting blades, conveyor belts, and other supplies.
- Supervise, train, and assign tasks to purchasers.
- Review purchase requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy and budget alignment.
- Maintain procurement standard operating procedures to streamline workflows.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with local and global suppliers.
- Monitor supplier reliability, material quality, and delivery punctuality using scorecards.
- Resolve issues involving damaged shipments, incorrect invoicing, and supply delays.
- Coordinate with inventory control to align deliveries with production schedules and prevent stockouts.
- Analyze pulp and related commodity markets, identify savings opportunities, and track spending trends.
- Prepare monthly purchasing cost estimates and monitor departmental savings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- Minimum five years of procurement experience.
- Paper mill or heavy manufacturing procurement experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and MRP software.
- Strong contract negotiation, team leadership, analytical problem-solving, and supply chain risk-mitigation skills.
Pay
- Pay range is QAR 6,000 to QAR 8,000 per month.
