Role overview

DFS Aviation Services, in partnership with dans, is hiring a Project Manager - Trainee to support project management activities.

The role is designed for a fresh graduate or candidate with very limited practical experience and includes extensive departmental training toward full Project Manager duties.

The role is with Dubai Air Navigation Services and is based at Dubai International Airport or Maktoum International Airport, depending on operational requirements.

Project and portfolio management

  • Manage the portfolio in accordance with finance regulations, budget policies, departmental procedures, and end-user requirements.
  • Report portfolio performance against strategic and project objectives and benefits, highlighting issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop project plans covering tasks, responsibilities, timescales, dependencies, resources, and manpower estimates.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering, evaluation, and selection.
  • Prepare progress reports, project management documentation, and presentations.
  • Advise on portfolio risks and issues to support timely realization of project benefits.
  • Support project selection and approval with return-on-investment and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Coordinate approval requests and supporting material, including feasibility and options studies, scope, goals, constraints, risks, and deliverables.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate deviations to sponsors, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate change-impact assessments, options, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate post-completion benefits-realization reporting with end users.
  • Collaborate with Safety and Security on compliance with GCAA and DCAA regulations.

Stakeholder and department practices

  • Communicate project expectations clearly and promptly to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, review, and improve departmental policies, procedures, templates, and practices in line with international standards and industry practices.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
