Salary and benefits
- Base salary is £54,878 to £64,562 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- A flexible benefits fund of 20% is paid on top of base salary and is fully pensionable.
Role overview
Manage the Northern Powerhouse Rail scheme and coordinate multidisciplinary work with other directorates.
Deliver assigned scope to agreed budget, time and quality parameters and achieve Department for Transport outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Fulfil NEC3 Project Manager duties and support management of project interfaces and new projects.
- Monitor Professional Services Contract performance and report against Department for Transport instructions and stage gates.
- Develop the programme schedule baseline and manage risks, assumptions and exclusions.
- Maintain interface strategies and audit trails with third parties, including Network Rail.
- Support Department for Transport engagement, NPR interface management and stakeholder reporting.
- Promote collaboration, innovation, knowledge sharing and equality, diversity and inclusion.
Skills and knowledge
- Project management qualification, commercial management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of APM Project Manager intermediate-level knowledge, HS2 and NPR interdependencies, and relevant contract structures.
- Project planning, problem solving, decision making, analysis, influencing, negotiation and relationship-building capability.
